amelia was walking, humming quietly to herself when suddenly a figure appeared beside her. "ahhhh!" she screamed jumping back before realising it was just luke, jumping again when alex and reggie appeared. "don't do that!"
"sorry" luke chuckled
"we just wanted to talk to you" reggie smiled softly at her, making amelia smile back
"okay, you can walk with me, lucky for you no one drives down here and won't think i'm a weirdo talking to air" amelia giggled
"so, your my sister?" luke asked
amelia chuckled "that is the reason i freaked out, i saw you and i was so confused. i mean i still am but i'll accept it"
"i always wanted a sister" he smiled
amelia beamed at him "i'm glad"
"i can't believe it's 2020. we died 25 years ago" alex said running his hand through his hair
"it must be difficult, everything you know is gone" amelia said softly "i mean you appeared in your old studio, to find that it's now someone else's house. it must have been a long twenty five years"
"see to us it was only an hour, and all that happened was alex cried" reggie shrugged
"i'm a very emotional person" alex defended
"me too, don't worry" amelia added "wait!"
she stopped walking making the ghosts confused "what?"
"we didn't technically introduce ourselves. let's do that" amelia said
"yes! i'm reggie! i play bass and i love star wars, puppies and pizza"
amelia giggled at his enthusiasm "i'm amelia, but no one really calls me amelia. most people call me millie or meels"
"are we really doing this?" luke asked unimpressed
"don't be a spoil sport and just do it"
"i'm luke and i write music"
"i'm alex, i'm a drummer"
"nice to finally meet you guys" amelia giggled as she started walking again
luke smiled catching up to his sister "do you play music?"
amelia's smile dropped slightly "i write music, sometimes, but i don't have the confidence to sing for people, julie's mom helped me a lot but now she's gone that confidence shattered"
reggie went to place a hand on her shoulder, expecting it to go through, but to his and everyone else's shock, it didn't. "what?"
amelia stopped walking again in shock. she stood in front of reggie and went to poke his shoulder, her hand feeling the texture of his leather jacket. she did the same to alex and luke, realising she could touch all three of them "this is insane, why can i touch you?"
"wait! so only you and julie can see us and only you can touch us, but everyone can hear us when we play" alex fretted
luke wrapped his arm around your shoulder as you started walking again, he felt the need to protect the sister he had only met not even an hour prior. "do, erm, do mom and dad let you play?"
amelia nodded slightly "it's different, because they support me because they don't want to lose me, they were upset that they lost you because of music, but they find it hard sometimes when i try to play for them because they said i remind them so much of you"
a car suddenly pulled up beside them, amelia tensed for a moment in luke's hold before realising that it was her dad in the car. he rolled the window down and sighed "you missy sure know how to panic your mother"
"is she mad? i didn't mean to leave my phone" amelia sighed
"she's not mad, she's worried. she was scared something bad happened to you" mitch replied
"i just needed to clear my head, ollie was being weird with me"
"i never liked that kid anyway"
amelia chuckled "you don't like anyone"
"true, but come one let's get home before your mom has a heart attack" mitch said
amelia nodded, she subtly glanced towards the ghosts, her brother was staring at their father, pain in his eyes. she sent them a small smile as she climbed into the car. she watched as they poofed away as she climbed in.

the next day, amelia made her way to the molina household. carlos swung the door open excitedly before she could even knock. he grabbed her wrist without a word and dragged her onto their porch overlooking the studio.

carlos grinned as he walked forwards and rested his arms on the railing, the smiled never leaving his face as amelia stood next to him.

"i'm gonna go and see her, see you soon little man" amelia ruffled his hair before running towards the studio

amelia stood in the doorway of the studio, giving julie a moment as she hugged the song to her chest "jules"
"i did it" julie whispered
"you did it" amelia's voice cracked as she ran into the room and hugged julie tight
"she left me her song, she knew i would need it" julie explained
"i am so proud of you" amelia smiled squeezing her best friends hands
the studio door swung and flynn stormed in. "carlos said you'd be out here, we need to talk"
"are you okay?" julie asked
"no i am not okay! you got kicked out of music! and i'm scared the same is going to happen to millie!" flynn exclaimed
"i'm still writing music, flynn" amelia told her softly
"at the moment you are! i've been up all night thinking about what i was gonna say. i might've drank seven soda but i need to get this out"
julie took now as a good time to interrupt "wait i have something to-"
"no it's my turn to talk!" flynn said "you can't give up music, your music is like a gift! and millie your lyrics are magical! giving it up would be a tragedy! so you're basically like cancelling christmas. and i LOVE christmas!"
"flynn" amelia interrupted
"no! when we were six we promised to be in a band together! well amelia didn't but promised to write for us, we were double trouble"
"i never agreed to that name" julie commented
flynn sighed "that's not the point! julie if you leave the music program we'll be apart forever! that's just what happens. sure we'll see each other in the hall sometimes but we'll have different lives, make new friends"
"i hardly doubt i'd make new friends" amelia commented
flynn seemed to ignore her "the only time we'll contact each other is when we'll be liking each other's posts on instagram. every time i'll be hitting that little heart, my heart will be breaking because my best friends left me! do you have any soda? my head hurts"
"jesus flynn, my head hurts now too" amelia groaned sitting on the piano stool
"can i talk now?" julie asked, and when flynn nodded she smiled "i just played the piano and sang again"
"WHAT! why didn't you just say so?"
"i was trying but then your seven sodas kicked in" julie smirked
"i'm so happy for you! and for me" flynn grinned hugging julie "now we just need to figure you out" she pointed to amelia
"what is there to figure out, it's harder to cure stage fright than you'd think" amelia shrugged
flynn rolled her eyes before looking at julie "look at you looking all, i don't know, alive again."
"right? it's like i drank seven sodas" julie grinned
"what made you play again?" flynn asked
amelia send julie a knowing look "i found a song my mom wrote before she died. i was so afraid to play it. anything involving music reminds me of her. and then i woke up this morning realising that's why i should play it" julie explained
"keeping her memory alive" amelia finished "i know how that feels"
"come here you guys" flynn said as they all had a big group hug "we need to tell mrs harrison you can play again so my life won't be thag sad picture i just painted you. my girls are back! double trouble and their song writer back again!"
"not our band name"
"i gave you a tshirt in the 7th grade that says otherwise" flynn grinned as they all started to leave the studio.
amelia almost gasped in shock as she noticed the three ghosts, but she managed to hold it back, instead sending them a small smile.
"mils!" a voice called walking towards the studio
amelia looked up confused "ollie? what are you doing here?"
"i wanted to apologise for running out on you yesterday, so i was going to drive you to school, your mom said you were here" ollie explained
"sorry ol, i was taking flynn and julie this morning" amelia explained
"oh i just thought we could spend sometime together"
julie placed her hand on amelia's shoulder "it's fine, i can get dad to take us, and you can pick your car up later"
amelia was about to reply when a perky blonde walked down the stairs "what's taking so long?"
"you've got to be joking me" amelia rolled her eyes and scoffed under her breath "i'll see you at school ollie, i promised to take julie and flynn"
"okay whatever" ollie scoffed quietly "see you later" with that him and savannah left the molina property
"can i just say, i hate that dude" reggie spoke up, luke and alex agreeing
"i don't understand why you are still with him" julie said "he's unfaithful"
"jules i love him, when it's the two of us he's the sweetest, but when savannah turns up it's like i don't exist"
"wait let's go now and maybe you can run him over when we get to school" flynn grinned
amelia laughed "not happening, but let's go"
julie and amelia waved to the ghosts, but when flynn looked at them confused they remember that she couldn't see them, so they pretended to swat a fly.
