"Thanks. Tulog na ako," humiga na ako sa kama.
"Water."
"I'll drink plenty tomorrow."
"Shower?" aya niya. "I'll wash you up, brush your teeth, and apply your skin care if you want—"
"I'm already sleepy."
"At least change your clothes, doll?" nagsusumano nitong tinig.
"Xerxes, what part of I'm already sleepy do you not understand?!" iritado kong pahayag at tinalikuran siya bago ko ipinikit ang aking mga mata.
Rinig ko ang pagbuntong hininga nito at ang mga yabag ng kanyang paa. Sunod ko nang narinig ay ang tunog ng shower na nagmumula sa banyo. Matapos ang ilang minuto ay naramdaman ko na ang presensya nito sa kama.
He wrapped his arms around me and planted a feathery kiss on my shoulder. "Te quiero, muñeca," he whispered.
(TRANSLATION: I love you, doll.)
Morning came and Xerxes is the first one that appeared on my sight. I didn't notice that during my sleep, I turned my back and made myself face his direction. That's why it was him that I saw first as I opened my eyes.
He's intently looking at me while stroking my hair with his fingers. "How was your sleep?"
"Pwede ka bang umalis muna?" halos pabulong kong pahayag.
"Why?" he asked in almost a whisper.
"'Me' time," I reasoned out while biting my lips.
"Can we talk about our problem, baby?" He cupped my cheek. "About last night."
"It's okay," I told him.
"No, it's not," he worded. "You're not okay."
"Xerxes, please…" nagpapasensya kong tinig. "I just want a 'me' time. That's it. Can't you give me that?"
He looked at me for while before letting out a sigh and standing up from the bed. He walked slowly like he doesn't want to leave yet but since he has no choice, he did.
When I heard him close the door, that's when I only got up from bed and started taking a bath. After, I went out and didn't see Xerxes' presence at my living area or kitchen. He respected my decision of making him to go away just so I could have the 'me' time that I want.
Sa dami masyado ng iniisip ko ay hindi ko na namalayang pati ang mga simpleng gawain ko rito sa condo ay naaapektuhan. I was supposed to fry some eggs but then I ended up putting the dishwashing liquid on the pan instead of the olive oil.
Out of frustration, padabog kong inilagay ang kawali sa lababo at hindi na lang itinuloy ang balak na maggawa ng almusal. Wala na rin naman akong ganang kumain.
Ang tanging gusto ko lang na mangyari ngayon ay mabigyang kasagutan ang mga tanong sa isip ko. I want to ask Nygel about it but I remembered we're not mutuals in social media and I also don't have his number. I cannot ask for his number from Rengell, Mauve, or any of the Legazpis since they all hate him.
I don't want to approach Aleezah so what I decided to do is just ask one of Xerxes' friends. Afterall, they all knew each other a lot since high school. And I know who's the perfect person to ask about it. Someone I'm sure na pananatilihin iyong sikreto at hindi sasabihin kay Xerxes. I'll ask the one whom I'm closest with. Rave.
