Epiphany. [Guren Ichinose x Reader] ➥ Book 2. [Semi-hiatus]

Epiphany ~ Chapter 20.

He looked up at me with a questioning glare before his arms snaked around me and pulled me onto the bed,

I squealed,

"Do you really think you can do that and get away with it." He frowned playfully, earning a laugh from me, but I knew he simply didn't want to talk about the situation any longer and I was okay with that, quite frankly he had already told me enough.

At first, the days seemed to be longer; Nico's departure had left a somber mood and the emptiness was affecting everyone, even Ira, who was once strongly opposed to him staying, missed his company.

Although as the days progressed, everything began to return to normal. Everyone shortly resumed their usual activities and habits but little did we know that another unexpected bombshell would be dropped on us, when Miya called all of us to the living room.

"I have something important to tell you all." She announced,

The whole room fell silent as we all waited for her to continue,

She became more flustered at the new intensity of the attention she was receiving, "Ah...well-" she scratched the back of her head, "To put it simply, I'm going to be moving out in a couple of months."

Ira suddenly grabbed her arm and began hysterically wailing, causing everyone to roll their eyes at the dramatic teenager,

"No...Why?" Lilith joined in,

"Yeah! Who's going to tactfully get rid of Kai now?" Ira sobbed, making me cackle as Kai suddenly became alert,

"Oi, is that all you're concerned about?" He yelled,

Miya chuckled, patting her head in an attempt to calm her down, "I'm pretty sure I've told you all about the volunteering I've been doing with the JIDA." She began to explain herself, everyone nodded, "Well there is someone there who I've known for years now, even before I started working for Master Guren."

"We ended up unknowingly reuniting there, and he eventually proposed," she avoided eye contact with everyone,

"You're getting married?!" It was now my turn to shriek as I beamed at her in delight,

"Wow, who would've known? Congratulations, Miya." Takana grinned at her excitedly,

"Seriously though, why didn't you tell anyone that you were seeing someone?" Naomi pondered out loud,

"Funny you ask that actually, I've seen how you are with people you ship and couples and decided I could do without it..."

"Hm, well since you put it that way, it's never too late to start now!" Naomi proposed,

"Of course it was inevitable." Miya exhaled in defeat, mentally preparing herself to be subject to Naomi's teasing,

"Naomi, you're the last person anyone would willingly tell these things to..." Kai shook his head, tutting,

"In all seriousness, Miya. Congratulations, you're free to contact us whenever you need and thank you for your time here." Guren spoke up,

She was about to respond but Kai beat her to it, "Oh dear, Guren. You seem to be taking this news harder than the two mourners over there." He cooed, referring to Ira and Lilith,

To everyone's surprise Guren had a very glum expression on his face, but what left his mouth next amused everyone rather than worried them, "Now I can kiss all the remaining order we had in this house goodbye,"

Miya did annoy Guren the least here, if not at all, she was visibly bewildered by the indirect praise she was receiving,

"I'm sure the others will do equally as well without me here." She hopefully offered,

"Of course! You've got me here!" Lilith proposed,

"Me too! Me too!" Takana enthusiastically added,

Guren looked at the two before sighing loudly in despair, making it clear he found the two a handful,

"Eh?" Takana tensed up irritated as Lilith ignored him,

"Why-?" Ira sobbed, "Why are the wrong people leaving when there are literally two sets of couples we could get rid of instead?"

"Oh, you're free to go too, Ira." Guren nonchalantly suggested,

"I was joking, sir." She suddenly added formalities which she'd usually neglect when addressing Guren,

"Wait...two?" Lilith cocked her head to the side in confusion, and Miya shrugged equally as perplexed,

Ira easily caught onto these kind of things, usually by accident as she naturally manoeuvred round the house silently and was frequently a victim to the case of wrong place at the wrong time. Kai glared at her, approaching her,

"Ah. I've said too much-" she backed out of the room as Kai shot after her,

"You said you wouldn't tell anyone!" He shouted viciously,

"I'm not sure if I want to help her, she did come for us too." I contemplated, and Guren silently agreed,

"Hey, if everyone knows you might as well tell those two," Naomi advised, "Right, Takana?"

"Ah! What the hell, Naomi?" she huffed, "Fine, Kai and I are dating,"

"How did Ira find out, though?" I asked,

"Just how she usually does. We didn't hear her coming and you know the rest." Takana was blushing now,

"You didn't seem to hear us when we found you either." Guren murmured,

"Not to mention you two get affectionate in areas like the kitchen." Naomi added,

"Ignore them, Takana." Miya grabbed the girl who was now fuming and escorted her out of the room, "I guess I should congratulate you too, huh? Wanna talk about it sensibly?" We could hear their voices fade out as they got further away from the room.

After them, Ira re-entered the room, quietly whimpering, her strawberry-blonde hair was a mess and she was visibly roughed up,

"Jeez, what happened to you?" Lilith's eyes widened at the state of the girl,

"Lilith..." she walked up to her, nestling herself into her chest, her arms wrapped around her waist,

Kai followed after, acting as if nothing ever happened, yet Ira pointed at him, incriminatingly, "He gave me a noogie." She began to weep,

I failed to stop the snort that forced its way out of my mouth, I couldn't tell if she was being dramatic or not, but knowing Kai it definitely hurt.

Guren groaned turning to him, "You seem to have forgotten what happened to you after you made Takana cry, do you want me to remind you?" He threatened,

It was Kai's turn to back out of the room, "It wasn't even that hard." He stuttered in protest as Guren followed him.

Maybe he was right, Miya leaving would definitely mean kissing goodbye to all remaining order in this household.

I thought to myself as I heard a loud howl from Kai.
