I long for a broken heart,
Feel it rip to shreds inside me,
And see the world through kaleidoscopes that are my tears.
To hear nothing but sobs and the comfort of others,
To smell nothing as my nose blubbers,
And taste only the saltiness of my tears.
I want to feel his lips drink mine,
Promising me things he will never keep.
To hear him tell me sweet lies
I will no doubt believe so naïvely.
To see the insincere sincerity in his eyes
As he listens to my voice.
I crave to feel the
Rage,
Pain,
Self-disappointment,
Anguish,
And everything in between.
But alas,
In the Kingdom of Faith and Trust,
Beneath the castle, Expectations,
In the dungeon called "Dreams,"
Behind the bars of the cell named "Innocence,"
Chained by "Imagination,"
And locked by "Childhood,"
Lives a heart that sleeps in doubt,
And dwells in sadness,
Longing to break free.
Even if just for a moment
That ends in agony.
