When it was announced that the Merengue team was going on a tour through Asia in the winter of two thousand fourteen, Javier wasn't too thrilled about the idea. He didn't speak english too well, and now he would be thrown into a country he had never been to before. A country that didn't speak his language, and he was afraid to make a fool of himself.

Their first stop was a city called Fukuoka in Japan and the flight from Madrid to the city was a long fifteen hours.

As they approached the airport, Javier looked out the window at the foreign city. He felt nervous.

Would the fans like him?

There had been mixed emotions at the announcement that he was going to join the spanish team. Some were thrilled that he was getting the opportunity to show his skills with such a prestigious team. He had been with Club Deportivo Guadalajara one of the most successful teams in his home country, then he moved onto Manchester United another very skilled team, and now he was with Real Madrid, one of the best teams in Spain. But there were others who didn't trust him always criticised everything he did.

No matter how well he did, some people were never happy.

He learned to ignore those people.

From beside him, his friend James sighed. The Colombian footballer became good friends with Javier. "I'm nervous too, man." He said. "I can't speak Japanese and I don't speak english. At least you can sort of speak it. You lived in England. But me? I'm fucked here."

"Well yeah," Javier nodded, "But its not like I'm an english master now."

"Some knowledge is better than none." James shrugged. Reaching for the back pack on his lap, he opened up the zipper and pulled out a yellow book titled Spanish to English Dictionary & Common English Phrases for Tourists. He grinned, "With this baby, I can't go wrong."

"That won't help you." Javier cracked a smile. "Trust me, I tried it."

"That is why," He began, bringing his phone out now and clicking on it until he found what he was looking for. "I have this." He clicked away at the screen and hit one last button. His phone boomed loudly with the translated phrase, "Hello. My name is James Rodriguez and I am lost. Can you help me?" Javier almost wanted to burst out laughing at the monotone voice of his phone. Wiggling his eyebrows at his Mexican friend, James said, "Nice, eh?"

Keylor, having heard the two talking, told them from across the small passageway that separated the seats. "I don't speak english either and I don't let that worry me. I'll just stay quiet unless its absolutely necessary for me to speak."

"I wish I were as carefree as you." Javier told his team mate.

Their conversation was soon interrupted by a young woman stewardess. She told them with a smile, "We'll be arriving soon. Please buckle your seat belts for the landing. Thank you."

They all nodded and did as she instructed. But Javier still felt nervous about being in a new country. Though he was also excited. He was sure that spending two weeks in Japan would be an experience he'd never forget.
