dear readers,

first of all
thank you so much
for reading and supporting
this book.

second of all,
i sincerely apologise
for the possible heartbreaks
this storyline might have caused.
i'll pay you back with
fresh chocolate milk
as an optional cure!

i think it is now quite obvious
that yes, yerim and soonyoung
sadly had to meet their fate
in the end.
but since my writing
is a sea of metaphors
and a jungle of verses,
i'd like to explain
some parts
that might have still been unclear:

〔〕

»fated«
here, the term "fated"
is used as a synonym
of being tied to death,
in this case
it's yerim asking soonyoung
if his condition was deadly.
as he states that he is in fact
"fated",
he ponders about asking her,
but the fact that yerim
uses that certain synonym
and most especially
knows about said term
makes him realise
that she most likely is fated
as well.

»the truth untold«
in the chapter "could"
yerim and soonyoung
start off their conversation
by lying about
their recent test results,
stating that they are
"stable".
in reality though,
both are aware that
they are lying to eachother,
regretting it
and feeling bad about doing so,
but knowing well that
the truth would hurt much more
if it would have been outspoken.

»hope«
another thing
both of them lie about
is the apparent "hope"
they have,
since they know
that their condition would not
allow their future
to work out as they wish to.
again, also about this,
they feel guilty.

»withered«
in the chapter "have"
are many hints about
soonyoung's and yerim's death.
the most obvious one
is the single line
"withered."
this is explained through
his mother no longer
having a reason
to bring her son his favorite flowers.
this also states that the white carnations
are no longer alive;
announcing soonyoung's death.
yerim's is hinted by the fact
that the nurse
had to clean up her room as well,
meaning the patient is no longer
living in it.

this whole story
really means a lot to me
and i am so thankful
for being able to share it
with all of you.

even though
this has been really sad,
i still hope you enjoyed it!

i'll gladly answer
any remaining questions
in the comments!

again,
thank you
for all of the love
and support,
thank you for reading.

i love you all
so much.
