It had been all day and Chandler still hadn't contacted Monica. After giving Joey a very brief version of what happened with Chandler, she fell asleep on his couch and Joey had gone back to bed. After waking up, she called in sick to work just so she could have a day off to process everything. She assumed that her & Chandler were still together and everything would eventually be fine, but this was still a huge issue that needed to be resolved. After spending the day with Rachel and Phoebe over at their place, they helped her decide that maybe she should contact him first since it was obvious that he wasn't going to do it and they needed to talk. She sat on the couch from Pottery Barn along with Rachel and Phoebe, who both were at her side. "Hello?... Hey, Chandler... Listen, I'm sorry we fought, but I think we really need to get to the bottom of this. I truly don't believe I did anything wrong.", she said into the phone as she played with the cord.

Monica gave the girls a look as if they should give her some privacy and they got the message, so they left the room and went into their bedrooms. She hated kicking them out of their own living room.

"I'm sorry we fought too, but you've got to understand that I'm busy and I just don't have time to constantly keep rehashing the same thing. And for the love of God, Monica. Stop talking about Richard. Just stop. I can't stand it. It's like you just sit around and think about him constantly and I can't take it anymore. I'm tired of being compared to him. I'll never be like Richard, I can promise you that. I'm me, and that's all I'm ever going to be. If you don't like it, than leave. That's all there is to it.", he said, starting to raise his voice at her.

"You know what? No. I don't deserve this.", she said back. "I hardly ever bring up Richard, actually. Did he treat me better? Hell yes. Does that mean I think about him constantly and want to be with him? No.", she continued, feeling a little guilty about that part because it was kind of a lie. "You literally do not give a shit about what I feel. You've completely just disregarded everything I've told you and the only thing you're worried about is my ex-boyfriend. And frankly, I think it's because you know he treated me better and you wish that we had the kind of relationship I had with him. I realize you're different, but that doesn't give you the excuse to treat me like complete shit and honestly, I'm over it. I've tried to tell you multiple times about this and you don't care, so I guess that's my cue to leave. So, Goodbye Chandler. I have nothing else to say to you. I'll be at home packing your things if you need me.", she said and hung up.

She was very proud of herself for standing up to him that way, but she instantly burst into tears. She'd just ended a relationship of three years. She couldn't believe it had just ended over something that could've been fixed. It was just gone in a flash. She put her head in her hands, trying to process what had just happened, when Phoebe & Rachel walked in after hearing her hang up. They'd only heard bits and pieces, but at first, they were proud of her and came out saying, "You go, girl! You told him!", but quickly changed their tunes when they saw how upset she was. "What happened, sweetie?", Rachel said as Phoebe handed Monica a tissue to wipe her tears. "We
broke up...", she said, looking up at them with her teary eyes.
