The mirror lies to you, you feel
It seems something that you see isn't how you are
The skin you're in doesn't look quite right
It's far too big and far too tight across yourself
The house is quiet and you're all alone
Some thoughts cross your mind
And no one's answering their phone
So your thoughts begin to swarm
And you begin to try to fix the skin you're in
The cuts, they hurt
It doesn't feel like you did them right
Yet you've come too far to stop
Fighting through the pain, you finish up the deed
Oh but it's all an illusion
That broke you again and again
As you get better before you fall back again
Again and again
You regret all what you've done
Your skin now open with no way to close
You didn't do your research
You were very ill-prepared
So the pain begins to alarm and anxiety sets in
The one who lives beside you has begun to grow concerned
They called for help
As you began to fall asleep
They took you away
Oh but it's all an illusion
That broke you again and again
As you get better before you fall back again
Again and again
You awake with the same skin
Stitched up again
It feels far too tight
And the same as it did
It feels as if you did it for nothing
Nothing seems to change
No matter what you do
As if it's for nothing
As if it's for nothing
You feel you're going crazy
Nothing's working
Nothing changes
Your skin still pulls itself too tight
It doesn't feel as if it's your own
Once you get back home
You look into the same mirror
And see the same thing
Your skin is tight
So you do it all again
