Megan Lewis

11:45am

It's been a few weeks since we've gotten back from Milan and we have three weeks until the store opening. The shipment of the clothes have come in and Alex and I were going down to storage to check them out today. I was about to leave my desk when I heard footsteps behind me. I stood from my chair and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Hey, can we talk?" Noah asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Not right now actually. I have an appointment to get to." He sighed.

"You've been dodging me for the past two weeks. Every time I try to talk to you, you have an excuse. I've already said I'm sorry for what happened." I took deep breathe.

"I know. I just, think we should keep our distance from each other." He pulled his lips into a tight line.

"Are you seeing someone? Just tell me and I will leave you alone." I looked away from him and shook my head.

"No. I just don't have time right now. I wish you would just respect my decision. Now I'm late for my appointment. I have to go." I pushed past him and walked to the elevator. I went down to the 7th floor and walked to Alex's office. I knocked on the door and I didn't hear an answer. I rolled my eyes and knocked again. He didn't answer so I just opened it.

I saw a tall, olive skinned woman standing in front of Alex's desk. She had long light brown ombré hair and she was standing with her hands on her hips. Alex was leaning on his desk staring at her. I cleared my throat. She turned around.

"Ohh, you must be the assistant. Monica is it?" I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Megan, she was just leaving." Alex said.

"And who is she?"

"Nobody." He spoke up before she could say anything.

"Ouch. I'm a nobody now? How many times do I have to say I'm sorry Al?"

"Al?" I scoffed.

"I have to go, as I said before." He said while crossing his arms under his chest. She looked in between me and him. A smile appeared on her face.

"Hmm, I guess I'll go, for now. I'll see you soon Alex," she threw him a wink, "Megan." She walked out of his office and I turned to him. He breathed in and out.

"Ready to go to the storage unit?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow at him and crossed my arms over my chest. "Don't look at me like that." I rolled my eyes and started walking out of the door. We walked together in silence to the elevator and went down to the parking garage. He came to my side and opened the door for me. I slid in. He walked around to his side and got in.

"Megan. Talk to me please." I just shrugged my shoulders. He just looked at me.

"Let's get to the storage unit." He sighed and pulled the car out of the parking spot.

We drove in silence with the radio humming in the background. I leaned my head up against the window.

"Megan, can I at least explain." I shook my head.

"Not right now. We need to be focused on checking out the shipment. Make sure everything is there and accounted for."

"Okay."

The silence washed over us again until we got to the storage unit. We walked into the office and Brian was standing there talking to the clerk. We both just stood there not speaking. Brian turned around.
