sure his flights was still booked for Virginia

Son's pov

I get a call from my dad. He probably calling about the stupid flight to virginia. I don't even want to come because I'm gonna be away from my friends.if my mom was still alive she would not want me down there with untrustworthy father but as a son should I picked up the phone

Me:hello

Dad:don't answer the phone like you don't know nobody

Me:um hi

Dad:okay forget the hello um is your flight still booked

Me:yeah but I'm gonna miss my friends and everything around here in Cali

Dad:you'll be fine plus you'll have company with you

Me:my friends are coming?

Dad:no

Me:then who is my company

Dad:you're step sister

Me:stepsister?!

Dad:her name is Brianna but she prefers to be called Bria

Me:why you didn't you tell me before

Dad:I wanted to tell you when you came because I would think that you two would get along because you two are the same age

Me:okay good to know

Dad:well call me when you're at the airport I'll come and pick you up

Me:okay see you in a few hours

Dad:alright bye

Me:bye

We both hang up and I just look at my suitcases thinking about what my life would be like moving to virginia. Then I go downstairs to talk to my aunt Jennifer.

Me:aunt Jennifer can we talk

Aunt:sure I'll guess I have a minute

Me: what so you think about the whole moving to Virginia thing?

Aunt: well I surely don't approve of it but your dad wanted you be there for the wedding

Me:I don't like weddings

Aunt:I know baby but it's your dad

Me:he probably gonna make me carry the rings or be his best man

Aunt: it's probably not gonna be that bad he probably just wants to bond with you

Me:he wants to bond after all these years he spent drinking alcohol and holding guns and smoking!! And tried to trade me for drugs which got my mom killed because she saved me!! After all that he wants to bond?!

Aunt:he did go to rehab

Me:for probably 2 days

Aunt:don't dwell on your father's past maybe he's a changed man

Me:he probably strikes his son to be wife just like he did mommy!!

Aunt:don't be so negative about things. Have you talked to your father today?

Me:he called me before I came downstairs

Aunt:any news?

Me:well I have a step sister

Aunt: that's good!!

Me:no it's not good

Aunt:just give her chance because she might go through worst than what you experienced you never know what happens to people behind closed doors
