NEW EMPLOYEES ORIENTATION

"To start of, I want to get to know more about our new assets of the company. How many are you in class? 18 people inside this room will make the most out of it. But I want to introduce myself first; I am Aleaina Vicencio, Managing Director of Holistique Medical Specialties. Never mind my age." Tawanan ang mga empleyado. Edad ko kasi madalas angpinagkakatuwaan itanong ng mga bago. Ewan ko ba, big deal sakanila. I know maliit ako, but it doesn't change the fact how firm I am when I started talking.

"I've been here in the business for about 5 years and started as an Administrative Officer." Tuloy ko na, mamaya biglaan pa magtanong ng ano ano ang mga 'to.

"You are now all familiar with "our" Vision Mission Values, yes I mean "our" kasi kasama na kayo." Pag uumpisa ko na sa orientation. Inexplain ko na ang Mission ng company, gaano ito ka importante at ang Vision at Values. So far, so good. Seeing them merely staring at me, means a lot. Nakikinig nga sila.

"Ms. Vicencio, may I know who's Joel Barker? Bakit quotation and line from him ang ginamit mo to explain our company's Vision?" Hala! Ang lakas ng dating nya huh! Nagtinginan sa kanya lahat ng employee na ino-orient. Not a usual question.

"Thank you for the interest knowing Joel Barker. Before I explain, you are Mr...?" Tanong ko sakanya to let him know that I am interested and willingly answering his question. "And from what department?" Medyo ginaanan ko ang tone of voice ko para hindi halatang nagulat ako sa kanya and to show him that it's ok to throw a query.

Biglang nagbubulungan ang ibang empleyado, pero sakin nararamdaman ko nang china-challenge n'ya ako. Pero hindi ako papayag na madarag nya ako sa simpleng tanong nya. Alam ko, uso ang mga pasikat ngayon, especially this young man. Baka namana talagang interesado sya.

"Daniel de Vera, son of the President and incoming Assistant Manager for Organizational and Training Development Ms. Lia Vicencio." I knew it! Kaya pala ako ang ni-request ni Mr. President. No wonder. Astig ha, wagas kung maka ngisi. Medyo presko. Parang nakakaloko at nang aasar. Oh weh anu ngayon kung anak ka ng President, he's right, fair and just para paboran ka pag nagkamali ka! Sa isip isip ko kinakatay ko na s'ya.
