I never thought I would be a helicopter parent until Jack, my husband, took Toby and Layla out for the day and came back without Mr Cuddles, our daughter's beloved teddy bear.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and we had planned to go to the park and have a picnic. Jack had been looking forward to taking Toby and Layla out all week, and he promised that they would have a great time.

I watched them as they got ready, Layla was hugging Mr Cuddles tight, and I reminded Jack to keep an eye on him. "I got it," he said, waving me off.

They left, and I spent the morning cleaning and catching up on some work. As the afternoon approached, I received a text message from Jack, "Hey, we're having a great time! The kids are loving it!" I smiled, happy that they were enjoying their day.

"dada I can't find Mr cuddles anywhere" Layla sobbed in Jack's arms "Uh oh Mom not going to be happy with you dada," Toby said referring to how you were earlier

"Don't tell Mom okay" Jack spoke to Toby trying to control the situation "Oh honey, it's okay, we'll find your teddy." but Layla just cried harder. "He's lost forever," she sobbed.

after some searching, they were going to give up but soon Jack heard Toby yell "I found him! I found him!" Toby ran over to his crying sister

"He's not in good shape. We'll have to wash him and sew his bell back on." Layla burst into tears again, but Jack picked her up and hugged her. "It's okay, baby," he said, "We'll fix him up good as new." And soon they were all on their way home
