After a couple of seconds, we both pulled away from the hug
"Red?" Espresso asked
"Hm?" I hummed
"Do you.. Think Dark Enchantress is going to come back? I mean, I did stab her eye"
I thought for a bit
'Right.. Dark Enchantress is still a problem..'
"I.. Don't know" I said
"I just.. Keep overthinking. I think I could be powerful enough to try to stop her if she tries striking again since I am considered powerful.. But at the same time, I just don't know" Espresso muttered
"..Your scared of her, huh?"
"Probably.."
I comforted them, then they smiled a bit
"She's a prick. I don't blame you for being a little scared" I said
"I'm also a bit scared of Madeleine.. He traumatized me" Espresso muttered
"I swear I should've given him a piece of my mind before we both escaped the lair.."
"Red no"
"Finee"
"..Wait I took my hallucination meds, right?"
"Yeah, you took them earlier"
"Oh, ok"
Espresso let out a sigh of relief and slumped on the couch
"I wish I knew how to get rid of hallucinations. I almost always end up forgetting to take my meds, and it just ends badly"
I sat next to them and comforted them
They sighed and hugged me
"Thank you for being one of the only ones who actually care for me.. My entire life has been rough" They muttered
"First off, I had terrible parents, then when I got the courage to run away, I was forced to live in the lower city because I thought that it would be a bit safer. However, I was wrong.. It sucked ass. And now, I don't even want to be near the one cookie who used to take care of me" They continued (btw, red velvet betraying espresso happened a bit before espresso went to the lower city)
I looked at Espresso with a sympathetic look
"Honey.. I'm sorry" I muttered
"No no, it's ok. I shouldn't have randomly vented" Espresso murmured
"Es. It's perfectly fine if you vent to me. You're my partner, and I care a lot about you. You're always welcome to vent"
Then I noticed that Espresso was sobbing a bit
"When everything happened when we were younger, I thought you'd never change. Now look. you're dating me, and your comforting me" They said
"I changed for the better" I smiled
"I'm glad you did"
Then Espresso hugged me. Of course, I hugged them back
"Are you feeling better?" I asked
"Mhm" Espresso hummed
Then Chiffon trotted over to us and started tugging at our pants
We giggled and pet him
Then, I started getting the feeling that something wasn't right
However, I just brushed it off
'Surely nothing bad can happen. The threat is gone!'
'...Right?'
