Signs of these attempts are very clear with my unfortunately-not-unique journey with nanowrimo this year. If you want to emulate the challenge I had this november of writing, follow these steps.

Step One: Get super pumped and talk to all your friends about it, inviting them to join nanowrimo.
Step Two: Brainstorm all the time and get as many ideas as possible and plot and plan all the time.
Step Three: Succeed in recruiting a few friends to do nanowrimo too/find friends who are doing it.
Step Four: Throw down your hands in frustration as you realize, no, you hate this idea of a novel.
Step Five: Look around and realize that it is literally halfway through the month and you have written a grand total of 600 words because you hate your idea but don't want to/are too lazy to abandon it.
Step Six: Finish nanowrimo a little grumpy because your year was a total flop while your amazing friends finished a week early to their goals with great novels.

Yeah, my storywriting is not exactly in ship-shape condition right now. But we'll get there.

@LukeEDR it really is awesome. i feel like the plot is a tad bit rushed, but i can understand wanting to get to the good part. i really love it.
