With a background in journalism, languages and educational publishing, it was inevitable that I would say to hell with a career and try writing for myself. I really only got around to it to avoid the empty nest syndrome when my daughter left for university (in my home city of Edinburgh) to do History of Art. I landed six book deals in as many months and declared myself reinvented. Retro mystery Tomorrow’s Anecdote, a blast of anti-Thatcher angst, came out in April 2013, followed by Dark Interlude, a post-WWI mystery thriller in June and Half Life, a 1930s ‘film noir’ romantic thriller on 16 August. Two teen fantasy adventures, Ice Trekker and Legends of Liria, came out in autumn, while botanical mystery The Lost Orchid blossomed in April 2014. This is to be followed by the release of an original Cold War thriller by my late father, Peter A. W. Ke.t It’s entitled Not With A Whimper and is set in Southern Spain in the early 1970s. Currently, I'm working on a website in his memory.

I now live in Warwickshire with my academic husband Robert and our two daft dogs, Lottie and Chester, without whom I would never leave my laptop.
