thank you for being here for me even when i have been inactive 
          
          many of you may remember that i graduated in december and began a job as a special education teacher. 
          
          i honestly love my job, but it has pretty much taken up all of my waking hours and requires all of my braincells 
          
          i am working in a public school in a large city, with very small children- anyone who has attended a public school in an urban area and in the USA knows: resources are at a minimum and teachers generally have to take on more roles than they are paid to do. more than they are sometimes emotionally ready to do.
          
          and if i’ve learned anything about myself in this short time, it’s hat i don’t back down from advocating for others, especially my students.
          
          this has led to some difficult situations (like calling child protective services to keep two of my students out of danger, advocating for them in a courtroom about what i witnessed, and having student parents verbally harass and physically threaten me in my own f*cking workplace)
          
          because of everything going on in my life, my stories here have been very much on the back-burner and i am truly sorry for that. i miss writing, my outlet, and interacting with all of you
          
          i am working to intentionally set aside time for writing because i feel like it isn’t just something i want back in my life, but i need. 
          
          i love my job (even though at this point i am doing the job of a social worker and not a teacher…) and i love my students, but i am putting so much of myself into it that i am neglecting and sacrificing other areas of my life.
          
          it’s not healthy. 
          
          and i’m not saying by any means that fanfiction will turn my life around 
          
          but i do really miss it and remember how happy i was to share my words and worlds with you
