John Kellett lives in Melksham, Wiltshire in England, and always has. Amaranth is his first story and starts in the (real) village of Lacock, also in Wiltshire.
Although the story is obviously fictional, there are elements of the real world throughout including; Lacock, a painting that was stolen in Swansea in 1957 and several of the characters are based on real people, unknown to most but beloved to the author.
