@YaMujahadah Haha thank you- and boy do you sound busy! What made you decide to switch majors?

TheKeyofE

I just saw your comment. Apparently Google has a promotion, social, and primary email section. I thought it was weird that I wasn't getting wattpad emails anymore. Needless to say, I found the social section and was blown away by how many emails I had from wattpad and other social sites. So, this is why I haven't responded to you (or anyone for that matter...).

Haha, how are the books coming? And how was Ramadan, or has it not passed yet?

I'm good, although life certainly got more hectic than I would have wished which is why I wasn't on wattpad for a short while, and then when I came back the chat was gone (like you mentioned)! I almost couldn't believe it because that's how I talked to many of my wattpad friends. :( I guess they had a reason for taking it off though.

Anyway, life is good right now. I'm heading off on vacation and hope to write more stories while I'm relaxing haha. Oh, and I'm sorry it took so long to reply, as I said before, I hadn't been getting any of my reminder emails. :(

          Talk to you soon!

Haha... that's totally fine. I don't really come on Wattpad that often anyway because of the increase in work (both school and non-school).

Ramadan passed a while back (it was in August) and it went well, so thank you for asking. As for the books, not so well. But hey, I've still got a long time to go and I do have works in processes, now I've just got to actually take the time to put them down on paper! :P

As for Wattpad friends, I've had a lot of them inactive on the site for a while now. It's sad...

Have a fun vacation! Hope to hear from you soon! :D

Yes, it does helps us keep track of what should be our priorities in life and not get carried away. Oh and I'm so sorry for the long absence and late reply. Does your cousin live in Canada too? I thought I've seen a Canadian hospital advert picture of a hijabi doctor with the caption "We don't care what's on your head, we care what's in it." And I thought, wow, MashaAllah that's amazing! Well I'd say if she really likes it, she should just go for it. If asked whether she's willing to remove it, then she must try her best to patiently explain about it being a basic human right to practice her religion and that it is a religious obligation. The healthcare sector is very much in demand and lack workers, so if they deny many muslimahs of joining just because of hijab, technically, they are at a loss. Because Islam is the second major religion in the world and one of the fastest growing with a sizable amount of followers. because they'll I realised that in Australia and US, there are laws that protects your rights. But sadly, many countries, including mine are lagging in implementing it. I'm doing Business - majoring in Accounting and Management.

Yes, my cousin leaves here in Canada, too. Though I'm not really sure how it works here- I've also always thought that Canada was a highly diverse country, but I've been wrong before. It's just a shame that people would get turned away based on what they look like, not what their qualifications are. And maybe that's what the problem is. People have heard other stories of Muslims not making it into the health sector with their hijab, so they've removed for those purposes, but those times are slowly starting to change... we live in a country of 1 billion Muslims; if you didn't know then, then you know now, so get with the program.

I don't know how you manage doing Business! I have a friend of mine who is taking it as a high school course and it just doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. But then again, I guess if you have a passion for it, then more power to you. It's probably very enjoyable for you. :)

Sorry for the again late reply. Yep, I just submitted one assignment last week, submitting another tomorrow, starting on another soon. There's a lot of work to do but I've learned to be immune to short deadlines and take it easy. I didn't really like the major although I performed decently in it. I took science in high school too. Now that I think about it, I wonder how I survived cause science + me don't really go well unless it's medical sciences. Plus, they didn't allow hijab so not for me. But I'm really happy with my new major now. It excites and broadens my mind to a world I never knew of! :)

@YaMujahadah That sounds really cool. Inshallah, I hope that I will have an experience just like the one you are having now. WOuld it be alright to ask what you are majoring in now, or do you think that that would be too personal? Up to you, really.

Any ways, one of my classes is totally making me mad right now. THe teacher is handing us assignments by the dozen but he doesn't explain them well nor puts proper deadlines on them. I am currently working on a project right now and I've gone through and made about two or three changes so far because he's added more to the assignment or has changed things up completely. I think I might just lose my mind! Don't know how you deal with it...

And sorry for not replying to this sooner. It's been a month and I feel terrible for just leaving you like, though you've probably already forgotten about this conversation and have to read what you wrote just to remember anything. :P

Any ways, I hope that you succeed in all your studies and your writings! :)

That's no problem at all! I'm busy getting back to school myself so I totally know where you're coming from. As for switching your major, I'm sorry to hear all that about going into it and doing things that you didn't really want to do, but alhamdilullah you're now on a path that you like much better now. I'm not at a post secondary education institution yet, but just reading your comment above made me figure out that I do need to get a move on and really think about what I want to do. :S

My cousin is facing the same issue now; she wants to get into Health Sciences but she's heard that they don't accept women who wear hijab during the interview. I don't know how true that is, but to just thinking about it makes me shudder and shake my head at the kind of world we live in.

Before I end this off, do you mind me asking what you're major is now?

Yes I was as I swapped majors (was from Science stream, diverted to a new major I had no background in and it was tough as uni is all about independent study and I was in three clubs and a committee member for one). Plus, there were a lot of work to do (it's something all the lecturers of my uni love giving) but alhamdulillah I made it regardless. I since dropped one club, stuck to the other two and insyaAllah will be assuming another committee post. It's a crazy decision to make since I had a difficult time surviving last semester but I'm gonna try and challenge myself. It's gonna be hectic again really soon so I apologise for the late replies and my non-existence on Wattpad. Ameen. Jazakillah khair. That's great! Enjoy the rest of your break and time in high school/college (I can't remember which one you're in) because once you get to uni, it's a total different learning system altogether.

Beautiful people who are reading this, thank you for gracing me with your presences. :) Just wanted to make a shout-out and hope that you all are having a great summer. But also, I have an ulterior motive, because really, which user doesn't send a message to ALL their fans without one?

Any ways, I was wondering if perhaps you'd be willing to check out a story that I'm co-writing with @silly_rocky. It's called Devils and Doughnuts and can be found on @DreamReadWrite2. I'd really appreciate if you could check it out; thanks! :D

@TheKeyofE I feel absolutely terrible that I haven't seen these posts until now! :( I hope you can forgive me. Thanks for answering the questions and as for the The Art of Lemons, I'm totally going to have to re-read it and add it to my list of books that I want to read. :P

It's the summer and exams are over so I've totally made a big pile of books I want to read and re-read. It's actually quite hectic, and I think I have more books than I have time for... :P At the same time, Ramadan is fast approaching and I am not freaking out so much as I am trying to once again rec-connect myself spiritually by not doing a lot of unnecessary activites, attending the prayers at the Mosque and just overall becoming a better person.

Any ways, enough about me; how are you doing? It's been absolutely forever since we talked and I remember all the great times we had. I'm also very sad that Wattpad has removed the instant chat; that sure gave me a head way of the updates I had.... :P

Any who, I hope you reply back to this and that we can start to rekindle our friendship! :)
