born into the alaskan long dark 1953 (still a territory)
discovered the 50's in the south (didn't even know what prejudice was)
raced through the 60's in japan (young and blond in tokyo)
learned a lot in the 70's (college and street life)
raised little me's in the 80's (communes and bus-homes)
discovered my strengths in the 90's (abuse doesn't have to kill trust)
wasn't too worried about y2k (but laughed a lot)
loved and lost in the ought's (widowed is a rough way to start a decade)
mellowing out at last in the teen's (noisy toys for the grand kids)
looking forward to the rest (life is so grand)
curious about the other side (have some theories about that)
not too worried about that either (tried to be good, really)
always reaching a little farther than i can (or why bother)
giving more than i should (why not? what else is life for???)
dancing the days (to the music of the corn and cows)
singing the nights (writing by moonlight)
content and happy (what a long strange trip its been...)

that being told, where my writing comes from, the stories and attitudes, will be obvious. i could never tell it all. but i do try to hit on the highlights.....
