Patrick Witz

Patrick Witz has been characterized as lot of things... child, brother, husband, father, grandfather, writer, photographer, artist, childcare owner, oddball teacher, a nice guy, and at times by his in-laws a few unprintable Italian expletives.  

Mr. Witz's nonfiction writing has spanned many years with close to two-hundred articles and photos published in several local newspapers and digital/print magazines. He also wrote for and then became editor and publisher of an online family oriented Gold Country event and travel E-magazine.  For over twenty-three years, Patrick's family and friends have come to expect his annual creative and entertaining family holiday newsletters.

Those whimsical family newsletters bridged neatly into Mr. Witz's fictional writing. Patrick's stories are unlike many writers and authors that have found comfort in one particular genre. His eclectic nature leads him into a labyrinth of fictional paths, varied narrative points-of-view, and remarkable blending of genres. Patrick's characters visually come to life in a reader's mind. There is not one, but many curious characters in his recent stories. Those characters range from caring family members, cautious adventurers, relatable quirky aliens, rotting zombies, to psychopath killers. Patrick vividly composes unique settings, emotional plots, and sudden story-line twists. He is quick to point out that variety is the spice of his writing... sometimes sweet, at times bitter, on occasion peculiar, and every now and again it packs an emotional punch!
