Alban Woods

Hi Guys, I'm Alban Woods or the Junk Talk Poet, as I'm often referred, and I am using this space to give back to my readers, first and foremost I am here to follow back and connect with creative minds, in my journey to document my creative process as I currently explore various creative projects. 

Most well known for my most recent work in poetry - 'Grenade Rain Dance' and 'Beneath Purple Palisades.'
Two poetry collections that approach controversial social questions with the attempt of accessing the abstract and providing a refreshing and stimulating outlook on the world, by blending light and darkness with unpredictable bouncy alliterative rhythms.

Inspired by the working class city of Birmingham and neighbouring towns, a place that sits quite comfortably upon my heart,  I am a writer who likes to explore the boundaries of form and meter, "in a way that mimics the unpredictability of modern life making somewhat unexpected comparisons that create an infinite range of extraordinary images."

Along with the three poetry collections currently to his name, (a debut chapbook, Navigating Nightmare Ecstasy, being the first of my published works, I have contributed to numerous poetry and fictional anthologies by: Nothing Books, Burdizzo Books and others, as well as various other charity publications. 
I am currently working on a variety of eagerly anticipated projects ahead of this year, and next including a large collection of poems as yet untitled, a novella that explores the theme of agoraphobia and influence in isolation, and a collection of short stories, entitled 'In Towns of Short Health' which attempts to photograph through the medium of words, the strange world that we each inhabit.
