I am a writer and painter from Toronto, Canada. I have published three books of poetry - Sandalwood Thoughts, a collection of poems and drawings; Dots and Crosses, a long prose poem with sketches with a CD version, where I read the poem to the accompaniment of original music; and Occasionally, which features poems in free verse and the ghazal form of poetry in classical Indo-Persian style, one of which has been translated into Urdu and set to music in Occasional Ghazal, and also made into a short video, Occasional Ghazal - Couplet. My poems have been published locally and internationally. I have exhibited my works in galleries in Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Mumbai and New Delhi.

I was an initial member of the Art Bar, the longest-running poetry reading series in Canada; a founding member of Pegasus, a poetry group at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto; and a member of the League of Canadian Poets, Canadian Authors Association, Ontario Poetry Society, United Poets Laureate International and the International Writers Association. Recently, I was short-listed for the Montreal International Poetry Prize. As a grand prize winner for the Artists International Dancing Poetry Contest, my poem is being choreographed and staged at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco this Fall.

I am delighted that one maze led you to another and connected you to dots and crosses.
