I like to write realistic thrillers - believable, not hideously gory – on issues I feel strongly about, but I like humour as well. So my thriller characters have a sense of the ridiculous, and my romantic comedies have some serious stuff in them as well, and I hope in both cases without the deafening sound of axe-grinding.
I’ve been lucky in being able to travel a lot, so I can talk accurately about plenty of places in the world, and the many amazing people I’ve met there. For the rest, I make stuff up. Yes, I confess. But Google helps me check my imagined facts, and of course, if there’s a clash, I bow to reality and change my ideas to fit. Well, most of the time.
