I'm a Baptist Christian, and I got saved in November 15 2012.
My testimony of salvation:
When I was really little, I wanted to go to heaven because I knew that there was a heaven and there was hell and no child wanted to go to hell, but I didn't know how to get saved. So I asked my brother on that topic and he told me that I had to get baptized and saved which he got part of that right. But how was I supposed to be baptized if I wasn't saved? A year later, we moved. There, when I was in my Sunday school, the teacher taught about the ABC prayer, admit believe confess which was okay, but she didn't explain that you needed conviction which I did not have. When we got home, I ran to the couch, knelt down, with my Bible wide open, and my hands clasped together; I was mimicking what I saw on the tvs and pictures. My faith went into my words, not into Jesus.( Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved Acts 16:31) that means you can't rely on baptism or words or other thing, it has to be through Christ. Many years later, all of the signs pointed to me being lost, but I brushed them off, excusing them for backsliding which I did nothing about. We were heading off to the homeschool group and we saw someone in sin. I declared that they were going to hell, but my mom explained that they weren't going to hell because they were in that habit; it was because of their sin, it was because they were lost. We slipped into a conversation on the rapture, when Jesus returns and takes the saved away from this earth, and I could feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Of course, I burst into tears and told my mom that I wasn't saved. When we were at the homeschool group building, we went deeper into the topic of salvation, with Jesus dying on the cross for man's sin, how he came to earth with love for his corrupted creation, and he rose again from the grave, defeating death. I knelt there and prayed for forgiveness, for Jesus to save me from my sin.
