In my story “The Notebook” my character is going to have a physical disability in which they either can’t walk or have trouble walking. I haven’t decided which. I really don’t want to insult anyone, so I would love it if someone with a physical disability who is comfortable to read it and make comments if anything is insulting. I haven’t written about the character’s disability yet as they get injured and then can’t walk properly but I’m about to get up to it. I’m gonna do some research first and me asking for someone with a disability to read it is not meant to be insulting or to shove on the fact that everyone has the same experience because they don’t. I’m just trying to make it as accurate as possible and not write anything based on stereotypes or assumptions.
