'Deadly Little Secrets' is Marla Miller's debut e-novel. In spring, 2013, Marla launched a Kickstarter project that successfully raised some of the funds needed to publish this story that zooms in on the early years of the AIDS crisis. This fast paced suspense opens in the spring of 1985 and covers a ten-day period when some parents vociferously react to the addition of AID awareness into the local high school's sex education curriculum. Told in first person by a self-professed 'big-mouth' school nurse, many scenes are set in the hospital of this fictional and 'well-heeled' coastal Orange County, California town.

Marla began a freelance writing career 25 years ago after birthing three children and ending a career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Photo posted here is of Marla and her grandson. Since this story zooms in on  teens and their rights, it seemed appropriate to post a photo of the author and a member of the future generation at Wattpad. 
Marla's new found writing career kicked into high gear during her kids "wonder years." For 16 years, she wrote columns for the OC Register's lifestyle magazine before becoming founding editor-in-chief of an O.C. coastal lifestyle magazine.

Her first book debuted in 1999. All American Girls, the only authorized biography of the iconic World Cup/Gold Medal winning U.S Women's National Soccer Team was published by Simon & Schuster.

Marla began teaching MarketingtheMuse Workshops in 2003. Her message to writers is constant: It's not good enough to write well. Marketing is key if you expect to sell; a lesson learned during the marketing phase of All American Girls. Though 'indie' publishing was still years away, this publishing experience taught Marla that most traditionally published authors receive little help from marketing departments.

Marla's experience in the entrepreneurial author movement includes 2 'With Author' indie books and her debut novel, Deadly Little Secrets.
