Hello from Bury St Edmunds, UK. My name is M T McGuire and I'm an a humorous science fiction fantasy author. Apparently the books are quite funny too.

Outside my writing activities, I have a McMini, a McOther and we are owned by a large cat. I am a bit obsessed with cars: I drive a Lotus because that's a really practical Mum-mobile, obviously (actually, you'd be amazed how much primary coloured tat - not to mention the number of makes of push chair - that fit in it). I used to do stand up but I sat down when I got married because if people don't like your books it's harder for them to find you and throw vegetables at you. Also, if they heckle you, there's a chance you can think of a good put down before you write back, rather than on the bus on the way home.

After 13 years writing books that, frankly, I wish someone else had written, I gave birth to the first book in the K'Barthan Series, at around the same time as I gave birth to McMini. Six years later, the K'Barthan Series is now complete at four books and I'm writing a new thing about space lobsters. 

Despite being 46 now, and supposedly, an adult, I do tend to check all unfamiliar wardrobes for a gateway to Narnia. I haven't found one yet but I live in hope.
