Madlen

My name is Malden Janel (I go by Maddi, Maddi J or MJ).  I'm 17 years old.  

Writing has been my passion since i was a little girl, and I haven't been able to shake the love I have for it.  I'm mostly a YA Fantasy writer, thought I am trying to broaden my horizons and get into a few more genres.  I've been working on some Sci-Fi and Dystopian type stories, as well as a real life.

When I'm not writing, I can be found outside reading, playing with my puppy, Paco the Chihuahua, or playing Volleyball.  I am an avid supporter of voicing one's opinion and accepting that others may disagree.  I also enjoy drawing, though I'm horrible at it (really, this isn't modesty; I'm too selfish for that).  

My favorite books include Harry Potter, The Darkest Powers trilogy, The Looking Glass Wars, Curse Workers, House of Night, Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices, Beastly, Caster Chronicles, Wicked Lovely, WAKE Trilogy, Vampire Academy and Night World.

I'm currently working on a few different projects, the most important to me right now being my collaborative books (in other words, I'm writing it with someone else), The Bloody Lovely Series, the first book of which is almost complete.  While working on that, however, I'm also working on a plot for a book called Phantasm, which is going to be about a girl that can see ghosts (I know, original, right?).  

There's really not much more to say about me.  I'm an out-spoken type, and you can usually see that in my writing, where I like to put my opinions out plainly, and have many characters that do the same.
