Hi! My name is Elizabeth Mueller and I'm a YA Author. Why YA? I love connecting with today's youth in person as well as through my writing. I started writing when I was 9. It was my way of coping with the tragic abuse in my home. I've always enjoyed getting lost in my books. It is my goal to share my life's experiences through my stories about enduring problems, failing at life and then coming out strong at the end. But is there really an end? I hope you can feel the strength in my characters as they grow! A little something personal to sink your fangs into: Write Here In Ephraim (writers conference in UT), I participated in an author panel. In the panel, an awesome writer had asked what got us into writing. When it was my turn to answer, I said that growing up in an abusive home drove me to escaping through my writing. My intention for saying this--and I'm not ashamed to admit --is because I know how it feels to be belittled and useless. I am not bitter about my past but grateful. The only thing that makes me bitter is the knowledge that kids are still abused! I've reinvented my parenting, I've reinvented my confidences, and I've reinvented myself. My point is that, yes, even after being subjected to this awfulness throughout my entire childhood, HAPPINESS is rightfully yours. I am a published author. SUCCESS is rightfully yours. It's my absolute most favorite place to write, and every day I find myself in a different cafe in order to settle into some writing . . . Where do you write??

Hey Elizabeth . . . my, you are a prolific writer . . . and going back to when you were nine years old . . . this is my last year teaching, but I could always spot the readers (always carrying novels around with their text books) and the writers who loved to get lost in their literary alternate realities . . . sorry to hear of your background of abuse, but it seems as if you've grown from your experiences, or at least used them to fuel your passion for writing. Looking forward to reading one of your books! Which one would you recommend I start with?
