Lux A. Stone

Hi, I'm Erin! I'm a screenwriter, actress and filmmaker, and use the pen name "Lux A. Stone" when I'm writing the adventures of Holly Fricklesnap, a feisty young woman who works at a fortune cookie factory in Reno. I've started with her travels in Spain and her correspondence with AJ Jenkins, her longtime best friend and secret crush. Next I'll be posting her travels in Australia and Bali, and more of her secret diary detailing her relationship with AJ.

Good writing is about people–the way we dream, desire, connect with each other, betray each other, love each other, and ultimately break our own hearts. I’ve been meeting the people who inspire my characters–the hopeless and hopefuls I’ve worked with, the overzealous and underpaid I’ve worked for, the beautiful/dirty/rich/broke who have been my target. When I’m working downtown L.A. after midnight or a car show before dawn–I’m amassing material.

I earned an Honors degree in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno, where I published in local magazines, got more than *slightly* in trouble with my sorority for writing a sex column in the university paper, worked at a bar called The Loose Moose, and ate many late-night breakfasts in downtown casinos. I also had summer internships at Rolling Stone, Universal, and AFI Film Fest, and got second runner-up at the Miss Nevada pageant. I won the Gorrell Award for Emerging Writers and earned a trip to Australia to write a travel narrative on anti-Americanism.
