Bill Minty

I am an IT specialist who has published 9 technical books and written for a number of magazines in the past.  Relatively recently, I branched into the area of historical fiction  My particular interests are the mid-Victorian period and the First World War.

During the working day, I am a competency architect who analyses the training needs of those who work in the oil and gas industry.  It's interesting work but it's also great to break away in the evening to stroll through the smog-laden atmosphere of a darkened London.

Ashes to Ashes is my first foray into the world of Wattpad.  It tells of the investigations of Inspector Charlie Field, an historical detective who was well-known to Charles Dickens, as he tries to bring a well-connected group of people to justice in a world where class was everything.  My plans are to write a number of sequels, ultimately exploring his life as a private detective after he retired from the Metropolitan Police in the mid-60s.
