Artemis Grouch

Call me Artemis. Artemis Grouch. I'm the vaguely androgynous (although very probably male)13 year old writer/amateur artist/otaku alter ego of a workaholic entertainment attorney. 

This is the result of being told "when you switch into work mode you're a completely different person," one too many times. That other part of me, that scary adult part, seems barely human with her upright, sterile manner, her cool evaluations of information, and her cunning manipulation of those around her. She is eternally skeptical, focusing all of her considerable focus on the worst possible outcomes and devising strategies to at all times put her one step ahead of the pack. She is a smooth talker and a hard worker, yet at all times she gives off the air of one charmed; success and being "right" comes naturally to her. She is quick to anger and easy to frustrate, and she very rarely holds back when she sees a glaring injustice.

She's at the gym six days a week for at least an hour, she speaks at conventions and conferences on legal matters facing the Industry, and she is a marvel at social networking. She has many acquaintances and many clients and colleagues who value her abilities, but very few close friends. She's passed through a handful of truly amorous affairs but has, for the most part, lost faith in finding her "other half". It's around that time, while she stood in her self-imposed cage, that I first saw the light of day. And perhaps she finally realized that I am that other half. 

I am Artemis Grouch.
