Adem Kirbas

Hello, I am Adem Kirbas. I was born in February 1988 in Zell am See in Austria. I've two siblings and I'm the middle child. My father was an unskilled  industrial worker in a sawmill and my mother was a cleaning woman in a hospital, both died tragically in a car accident in 2012. Despite being Turkish migrants my parents enabled all three of their children to attain higher education. 
I went to four years of primary school and four years into secondary school (Hauptschule). Thereafter I went to a business school (Handelschule) in Zell am See. I had to repeat one year of business school because I was a lazy slug! 
However, after three years in business school without "Matura", I immediately found myself stranded, due to a lack of job opportunities. After futile attempts to find a job apt for my education I ended up working in the sawmill, where my father was working. From a migrant point, one can't overestimate the psychological " impression" this had. Nevertheless, I understood that life is different than what one is taught in school, and I learned important skills in these formative years of my work life. 
I was a lazy student and that's why it came to everyone's surprise, when I announced to my family, that I wasn't done with my education and that I had decided to attend "Abendschule" to procure my "Matura" and the possibility to go to University. 
I succeeded and decided to attend the University of Vienna. At first, it all looked like I would be delving into Business Studies, but then I discovered Philosophy and everything changed. Since I never had Philosophy in school, it became immediately captivating, I may have lost myself in this maze. 
However, at University I took up writing. It started with philosophical term papers, then with fiction, short stories, novels, and screenplays. This all me.
