Dr. Alexandre Mortimer, a scientist who suffers from manic depression and multiple personality disorder, has never desired much in his twenty-eight years. A recluse by nature, he doesn't feel the need to surround himself with other people and, with his self-funded, expansive research into the creation of human-like 'companions', he has all the money he could ever desire. Andre, the doctor's alternate personality, is not thrilled with his host's newfound happiness. Andre is Alexandre's protector, and without a threat to Alexandre's safety, he is unneeded. Dormant. And one of the 'companions', Lilly, has convinced the doctor that he isn't real. She has him on medication to help treat his disease. Considering Lilly a threat to Alexandre's safety, Andre removes her from the equation. Can the doctor overcome the startling odds and save himself, as well as Lilly, from his alternate personality?
