6:47 P.M, May 3
It's been almost three months that Melanie has been on the "Head Start Online Learning Academy" She was really enjoying it. She could learn at her own pace, and she was getting A's and B's in all her classes.
She looked at her watch and saw the time: 6:47. Her mom was late. Later than usual. She is supposed to come home at around 5:30 from the Huffington Library.
Melanie has already called her mom three times. Once at 5:45, again at 6:10, then at 6:30. She hoped nothing happened to her. After all, She was the only thing Melanie had left.
Her dad, Mr. Peter Hartman lost his life after being diagnosed with Lung Cancer when Melanie was just 10 years old. After that she failed all her classes after being the smartest kid in her 4th grade class. Her dad had a special place in her heart.
At 7:O7 P.M, Melanie's mom came home,her eyes red and puffy and tears streaming down her face.
