Garret yelped when he got into the getaway vehicle and saw two more dragons. One red the other a reddish orange color. The red one jumped from the front seat to the back and on Garret's lap. Garret held still, afraid that any sudden movements would trigger it to attack. Uncle Tom wasted no more time and gunned it back to the house. "She won't hurt you." Grace said stroking Firestone behind the horn. And as promised, Grace began to tell her brother about the world of dragons. About the dragons and the keepers, the family marks, and then the feud. Garret listened to all this closely and the more Grace talked about it, the more everything made sense. When Grace was finished, Tom said,

"We're glad to have you back... and don't blame your sister for not telling you. I thought it was better if you didn't know, thought it was safer... now I see that was wrong. And I'm sorry." The car bumped as they hit the curb and headed up the driveway to the house.

"It's ok," Garret said petting Firestone on the spikes. It felt weird. Garret didn't know what to think about it. Dragons. Keepers. Family feuds. It was all too much... but... Garret didn't seem to mind it. When the car stopped and they all climbed out, Grace said,

"Firestone and Brimstone apologize for scaring you." Garret looked up at Firestone, who sat on his shoulder purring. She nestled Garret's neck.

"So you can hear them?" Garret asked and Grace nodded.

"They speck telepathically to those who bear the mark... unfortunately you can't hear them because you don't have the mark... but mother did. Firestone there was hers." Garret looked back at Firestone.

"Really?" Grace nodded. "Cool."

"Not to disturbed this happy reunion," Mason said. "But I gotta head back to the house and get Sydney. Hey, Old Man, is it cool if we crash here tonight? I don't wish to be at the house when he returns." Tom nodded.

"Of course, I'll drive you there and back here. No problem." Tom said and Mason agreed, relieved that he didn't have to go at it alone.

"Catch you in a bit, Anders." They went into Tom's car and drove down the drive leaving Grace and Garret with Moonstone, Firestone, and Brimstone, alone on the porch.

"Come on," Grace said nudging her brother. "There's a lot I still have to catch you up on." Without another word, Garret followed his sister into the house, ready to know more about the mysterious life of dragons.
