"Oh yeah it's fine."

He looked up and smiled.

"Hey, Anna."

"H-hi." Here I go again.

"Do you wanna dance?" He asked.

I smiled and nodded.

We walked out onto the dance floor and let loose.

I felt so good with him around. His presence made me want to fly.

After a while, he pulled me towards the stairs.

"Where are we going?" I asked as he pulled my hand up the stairs.

"You'll see."

We went all the way up to the third floor of the fraternity.

Then, we climbed up a ladder in the attic that went up to a hatch in the roof.

He lifted himself up then helped me.

We sat on the roof. Huffing and puffing after our long trek.

I laughed. He laughed with me.

He didn't know that I was laughing because I was nervous.

"So, what sorority are you from."

I stopped laughing. What was I going to tell him? That I was a junior in high school?

"Um, well I'm not in a sorority." I said.

"Oh." He dropped the subject.

We sat there in silence.

Finally, he said "Look at the stars tonight." He gestured to the sky.

They were beautiful.

"Haven't seen you at Kappa Epsilon before."

"I don't usually don't come to parties like this. I just had to get out."

"Get out of where?"

I felt comfortable talking to him.

"My life. My misery. My mourning."

He turned and looked at me.

I looked down and my shimmering party dress, gleaming in the light.

"My parents died a week ago, and now my sister won't talk to me."

"Oh Anna."

He scooted closer and put his arm around me.

Was this really happening?!

"I know how you feel. To be forgotten." He said quietly.

I looked at him.

He was leaning closer. I froze. I wasn't sure if he was reaching for the latch for the hatch (haha that rhymed), or for something a bit more intimate.

Our faces were inches apart. I didn't know what to do. Maybe he was holding back because I was holding back.

I leaned a bit closer.

Then, his hazel eyes disappeared and our lips were pressed together.

I didn't know what was happening. It took me a minute to realize that he was kissing me. The hottest guy I have ever seen was kissing me!

I put my hands on his shoulders. His hands were on my waist.

My heart fluttered. This was amazing. If just being around him was indescribable, this was unbelievable.

We stayed like that until I heard a splat sound next to me.

I pulled away and saw a raw egg oozing down the roof.

Hal saw it too.

Another egg broke next to him too.

We looked down and saw a few boys with egg cartons, launching eggs at us.

"Look who's making out on the roof, Hal!" One yelled.

Hal blushed.

"Let's go."

We climbed back down the hatch. He lifted me off of the ladder. I giggled.

When we got back downstairs, there were only a few people left. Janelle had gone.

I looked at the clock and saw it was four in the morning.

"I'm sorry, I have to go." I smiled sheepishly.

"Oh, here's my number."

He took my hand and scribbled a few numbers.

I smiled.

"See you later."

He waved goodbye and I skipped out the door.
