On her small skinny arms
Are lines of white
Each one tells a story
Of her struggles through life

She kept them hidden
But now sets them free
Each one tells a story
Of the life she longed to flee

These are her wounds
Left from a war against herself
Happiness left out of her sight
As her body grew weak
From fighting day and night

I hate you
You're hideous
And no one would love you
Save yourself the pain
And next time
cut down through your vein

She'd cry by herself
In her small prison like room
No one could hear her plea
For her life to end soon

She sat on her bed
With pills in her hand
Red rivers ran down her arms
And she listened the soft sound of her favorite band

Tears cascaded down
her sickly thin face
As she dropped the murders
Her hand had incased

She thought of her mother
She thought of her father
She thought of the man who's faith never faltered
She thought of the bullies
She thought of a boy
A boy in a screen
Who seemed to hold her hand
And give her life joy

No they hadn't met
He doesn't know her name
But that boy brought her hope
And never again did she cause herself pain

He brought her out of darkness
This simple teenage boy
helped her in many ways
And filled her heart's empty void

She now lives her life
With her battle wounds undressed
And thanks God for the boy
Who made her feel blessed
For the life she took for granted because of the people who damaged her mind
though what they had implanted.
