I got lost
On a journey to hope
Found a cynical tool
To teach me how to cope.Hired a vengeful man
To bring justice home
Bought a faithful nag
To teach me how to roam.I found a companion
To be my natural fiend
He sold me a map
That I'd never seenAnd I took my life
To find what I should have learned
By the time my first
Paycheck was earned.Went to journey far
But I found distress
Looking for a hope
Led to hopelessnessAnd spending my time
On what I could not win
Made me realize I
Would need to start again.Make the trip but once.
Be a fool- but ne'er again
Still you'll find a dunce
Is sure to never win.Found my faithful mount
Found my faithful friend.
Found my hope at last
In the journey's end.
