Chapter 4: Wannabe

"Hey Lexi how about a sleepover tonight" I asked walking beside my best friend

"Are you feeling okay Nikki?" she asked with her eyebrows furrowed together

"Absolutely perfect, why?" I asked her

"You never invited me to a sleep over since seventh grade, and that was only because your mom made you" she pointed out.

"Well, I wanna have one now" I said

"Mhm sure. You're up to something" she did staring me in the eye

"Can't a girl have a sleep over gosh, are you in or not whore" I asked cocking an eyebrow

"I'm in slut" she said laughing, I shook my head.

"Alright see you tonight then" I said waving her off heading to my trigonometry class just as I was turning the corner the bell rang. I walked to my class even slower knowing I was already late. I reached the door and stood there trying to decide if I should go in or just skip

"Well look who it is" a voice said from behind me. I turned around to be face to face with Brennan

"Oh hey Brennan" I said smiling "you're late for class" I pointed out

"Yeah so are you" he said

"Well this is my class, I'm just trying to decide whether to go in it skip" I said pointing behind me

"I think you should skip, with me" he said and I smiled

"Sounds like fun" I said

"Alright follow me" he said then walked down the hallway where I just came from

"I just came from this way" I said whining

"Shhhh" he said and I stopped right where I was. did he just shhh me.

"Nikki come on before we get caught I wanna show you something" he said

"No" I said crossing my arms over my chest

"Why" he asked

"You 'shhhh'ed me" I said.

"Seriously, what are you five" he asked laughing. If his laugh wasn't so adorable I would be mad

"Fine." I said walking by him.

We walked for another three minutes before we reached the cafeteria which was abandoned for some reason

"They leave after lunch is over" he said noticing my questioned look. "common" he said grabbing my hand causing a warm feeling to ignite in my hand and up my arm, I quickly pulled away

"Did you.." he cut me off

"Feel the warmth?" he asked

"Yeah" I said

"Yup, it's official Nikki, we're soulmates you might as well marry me now" he said and I laughed

"I don't know" I said

"Oh my bad" he got down on one knee and cleared his throat

"My dearest Nikki, from the warmth we both felt in the last thirty seconds we knew we were meant to be, would you do me the honors and marry me" he said

"I don't see a ring" I said laughing

"I knew you only wanted me for my money" he said standing up

"What money" I said laughing even harder

"Good point" he said the started laughing himself then started walking again. He lead me to the back of the cafeteria where the fridge was.

"Brennan are we aloud to be back here" I asked?
