She stepped inside and shut the front door loudly behind her. The cosiness engulfed her instantly and she felt her muscles relax, as the warmth caressed her body. She could feel the blood rush to her raw cheeks and she gradually regained feeling in her numb fingers, but she couldn't stop. She ran upstairs and barged into Jake's room.

He was fast asleep in bed but he wouldn't be for long. She strode over and yanked the duvet off him. She didn't expect him to wake up at that, so she raised her hand and forcefully brought it down on his arm. He shot up at the impact and scurried out of the way.

"Jesus, Shannon; your hands are freezing!" he exclaimed, as he rubbed the pink hand-print that was slowly appearing on his arm.

"Jake, you need to get up now! It's an emergency!"

"I think your fashion crisis can wait a little longer," he yawned.

"Hey; I'm not having a fashion crisis!" she said indignantly.

"Looks like it," he teased.

"Jake, I'm serious! Emma's in trouble, I think she's looking for Cassie."

"What do you mean?"

"She... She was shouting for Cassie. Then in the field and Vicki; we... We didn't know what to do. She... She ran. Cassie was gone, and Em-... Emma... She..." Shannon stuttered.

Her words were all confused and she couldn't seem to form a coherent sentence.

"Calm down Shannon. Now, just tell me where Emma is." He emphasised each and every syllable distinctly.

He was holding her firmly by the shoulders now and his eyes were deep and golden.

"Pandorica. She ran into the Pandorica."

She could see the colour drain from his face and his grip tightened slightly. When he spoke, his voice was so small and hopeless that her heart went out to him. She'd never admit it but she hated to see him in pain, especially over a girl, even if it was her best friend.

"What?" he asked.

"She ran into the Pandorica, shouting for Cassie," Shannon repeated slowly. "Vicki and I are going after her; we're meeting back in the field beside the Pandorica soon. I just need to pack a bag... Jake?"

Jake still hadn't moved and Shannon was becoming concerned. Then he looked up at her intensely, his eyes were serious and pleading. "I'm coming with you."

"I thought you'd say that. You can come, just pack a bag."

As Shannon walked over to his bedroom door she paused; then turned back around to face her brother.

"Oh and, Jake?"

"Yeah?"

"Please put some clothes on."

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

"You're not wearing anything!" she said in disbelief.

"I'm wearing boxers, aren't I?"

"Jake!"

"Fine, but take this; I know you don't have any decent bags." He chucked a rucksack at her and she tried to catch it, but failed. "It was too small for my Duke of Edinburgh expedition, so you can use it. I'll use my actual D of E bag."

"Okay."

She hurried into her bedroom and paused.

What did she need?

She looked around her room, which was dominated by a large wardrobe. Clothes! She'll need clothes. A while later she was done packing and only had a little bit of space left in her bag. That was when Jake came in; his bag was bigger than Shannon's and completely full. He was also carrying some tins.
