Chapter 3

Just when I thought Ace was about to kiss me Jennifer leaned down to help pick up my books and make sure I was ok. I could have hurt her for that but then again she wouldn't be a good friend if she didn't care. I so badly wanted to kiss Ace right then and there but I guess I will have to wait for another time.

We headed to our last class of the day, choir, which just happens to be my favorite class. I never thought I was a good singer but the class and teacher says different. Today I am supposed to practice my solo for the spring concert, but why am I so nervous.

I was standing in from of the group getting ready to sing when there was a knock at the door. The teacher went to the door and came back announcing an assembly in the gym. Just great I need to practice my part but always seem to get cut off. I wonder what is going on that's so important.

We all filled into the gym and took our seats. The principal, Mrs. Krous, started to settle everyone down so she could talk. "Welcome students, if you will please settle down I will try to make this a quick assembly. Today we have two new students in our school. They are exchange students from Ireland. Please give a big welcome to Acelin and Zacharias Ainsley. Please come join me up here you two." She announced.

She went on to talk about Ace and Zacharias for what seemed like forever I started to space off in my own mind staring into the handsome face of Ace. I was imagining those lips on mine, and his hands on the small of my back, and the all over feeling I felt when he touched me in Biology. Oh my, I need to get my head out of the clouds. I don't even know him and I am already thinking about making out with him.

When the assembly ended I walked out to Jennifer's car. When I reached her car she was talking to Zacharias and they were holding hands. Wow she moves quickly. "I need you to go shopping with me Shaylee. I need a new dress to wear to the Spring Fling. I have a date." Jennifer said as she blushed from the last of her statement.

I felt really happy for her and I had to admit I needed a dress too for my date. I couldn't help but get excited at the thought of going to the dance with Ace. An arm wrapped around my waist causing me to jump ten foot in the air. When I turned around I was facing Ace and he had the most incredible smile on his face. I couldn't help but smile.

            He looked me in the eyes and said, "I didn't mean to scare you. Are you okay?" "Yeah I'm fine. I just wasn't expecting anyone to grab me." I said blushing.

            We all stood around for a few minutes before Jennifer and I left to go shopping. We pulled up to the mall and spent almost 4 hours shopping and finally came across the perfect dresses. I could feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and took it out to see a number I didn't recognize. I answered it surprised by who was on the other line.

            "Hello Shaylee, its Ace. I hope you don't mind I got your number from Cole. Zacharias and I were hoping you two got your dresses today so we could find out what the colors are." He said.

            Ok now I was in shock, he sounded like a god in person and on the phone. I was melting at his voice. I cleared my throat and answered him. "Yeah we found the perfect dresses to wear. Jennifer picked up a royal blue dress and I picked up a gold and turquoise dress. Does that help you guys?"

            "That's perfect we just wanted to make sure we matched. I didn't want school to end today. I miss being close to you." He said.

            OMG! Did he just say what I thought he said? We said our goodbyes Jennifer and I got in her car to head home. I showed my mom my dress and she loved it. I was so happy she approved.
