I sat on the kitchen countertop eating an apple whilst watching max and luke having a serious make-out session

ugh I so wish I had a mate, I feel so out of place when all these mated dogs are taking their relationships a step further, I bet by nightfall every single one of them will be marked
I decided it was best for me to just take a walk outside so I did just that. The king was having a meeting with alpha's who didn't sign an agreement to protect them and have the king's men train them so he left to sort that out and I obviously declined the invitation to go even when he spent an hour trying to persuade me. I sat by a cliff watching the sun slowly coming down, giving the sky a warm glow, and relaxed.
"hey" I heard a voice call
I turned around to see who it was and the beta was standing there looking at me
"I bowed my head and responded"Beta, how may I help you," I asked
"I just wanted to see if you are okay and won't get lost," he said
"I'm perfectly fine there was no need to do that beta, I'm sure you have plenty more things to care for than me, "I said and turned around hoping he would leave

"I'm sorry" I heard and turned to see he was now sitting down facing me with tears that were fighting to come out of his eyes
"excuse me?" I said
"I'm sorry for all the damage I caused you, the pain, the hatred. I'm sorry for calling you weak and hurting you. I was so used to others being mean that it got to me, I never did hate you, I'm sorry that I was part of the reason you are broken. I was meant to be a brother but instead, I was your tormentor"
"I still have nightmares about what you did, no matter how much I forgive you I know they will always be there. I can forgive everyone else except you and my mate. you know why?because you knew me more than anyone else but you still hurt me and as a matter of fact I can forgive my mate cause he never knew me as you do. I don't know if I can ever love you the sam again beta" I said in a monotone voice
"NO!, please I know what I have done is unforgivable, it hurt you more than anything but give me a chance to prove myself to you, gimme a chance to show you I have changed.I know I hurt you but I want you back, please! I want my kids to grow up knowing their uncle, knowing that their uncle was always there for us even when we hurt him. You are the best gift we all received from the moon goddess and I won't ever hurt you again" he cried
he stood up crying and walked closer to me and he hugged me
I allowed him and hugged him back cause I missed him
"I Nick Andrews promises to never hurt but to protect my brother from those who try to harm him," he said emitting all his powers and I smiled
he had become immensely strong with the training and it would make him seem as though he had alpha blood in his veins
"I will try, "I said
"huh?" he said
"I'll try to forgive you but I can't say I'll forget about the past," I said and he smiled and held me tighter
"I don't want you to forget the past, I want you to remember it as a sign that you have grown, that you have overcome your fears and become an extremely powerful person human or not, to show everyone how strong they can become and how even the weakest can overcome their fears, you are an example to every omega who feels weak and defeated. I'm proud to be your brother forever and always" he said and I smiled
he had helped me see my pain in a positive way, and I'm sure I won't be having any more nightmares after such a speech
"I'm ready" I sighed
"ready for what?"
"to help the pack as their second alpha," I said and he gasped
"Are you sure, I mean you haven't fixed your relationship with Damon and I don't want you to force yourself into something you don't want to-"
"no I am ready, I will work on my relationship with him today and make sure we know as much about each other as possible"
"Okay let's go meet our alpha, cause time is running out"
