Daddy Comes Home
Daddy came home after six months,
Left after two weeks
It was hard.
I remember him coming home
It was a surprise
Mommy took up to Laura's house,
Her husband was with Daddy.
Mommy said we had to pick up a special package.
Pulled up the road
Saw lots of cars
Saw lots of people,
Lots of people in uniform.
Then I saw him.
Mommy barely parked the car
Unbuckled my sister
Ran out of the truck
Called his name
Crying I hugged him
Daddy was home.
Mommy and Sister come
Everybody crying
Everybody hugging
Never let go od Daddy's hand
Never leave Daddy's side.

PoetryWhen I was ten years old my dad was deployed to go serve overseas in Iraq. This story is for all the people that have shared the same experience. Not many people can understand what it is we go through. Hopefully this will give them an idea.
