Part 2

As soon as you turned ten, instead of receiving a starter Pokémon, your parents came up to you with a Pokémon egg. It was light blue, and you felt as if it was calling for you

"Make sure to take good care of it. It could hatch any day now" your dad said smiling as you held the egg happily

"Thank you so much! Mum, dad!" You replies to them happily as you say in your room taking care of the Pokémon egg for days...

You groaned rolling in your bed unable to get comfy waking up to a glowing light "what is that..."
as you opened your eyes you looked at the egg over on your desk getting up fast bolting to it smiling

And then bam! It finally hatched
Usually professors and everyone studying eggs couldn't find out what Pokémon it was going to be, but with some further studies some could be guessed at what they would hatch into (not canon, they are still clueless as ever)

To your surprise, a riolu appeared on your desk looking up at you

You smiled widely looking at it with joy
"Hey there riolu.. my name is (y/n)"
Riolu looked at you as it looked around and sensed your strong aura looking to you with sparkling eyes

"Will you be my partner?"

"Lu..!" Riolu replied happily as you let him tap the poke all, once caught you let him out again, it was still night time, both of you were exhausted so you ended up sleeping together in the bed

You started training with Riolu everyday, not much time passed before it evolved, you happily celebrated with your family with his evolution

"We have a surprise for you (y/n) and lucario. You've been doing your absolute best" your mother stated with a smile looking to your father

"You know how we've been doing research on mega evolution" your father asked

"Yeah, after you both went and traveled to kalos?"

"Exactly, well after coming back we actually got given something by professor sycamore"

You simply tilted your head, as did lucario
But when your mother pulled out a write band for lucario with a mega stone on it you widened your eyes
"No way-"

"And here is your key stone. We were waiting until you and lucario grew more together to give you this" your father gave you the ring that had your key stone on it, putting it on your middle finger, able to flick anyone off with style

"You're still 10 (y/n) but you've grown so much in 9months with lucario." Your mother was about to carry on when you smiled widely

"Does that mean I can finally go do the gym battles! And travel across unova!"

"We were getting to that- but yes you're spot on" your father said with a small sigh shaking his head

You threw your hands in the air and high fives lucario smiling widely

"That's not all the professor gave us, he wanted to congratulate you on turning ten, but since we had a lot of work we weren't able to come back in time" your mother said smiling

"So what else did he give you?" You asked curiously as your father took out a pokeball

"What's that? Don't tell me it's a Pokémon-" you said slightly shocked

"Very good to know you know this is what a pokeball is for, it's yours, let it out and see what it is" your dad said with a slight chuckle

You opened it up and out came a fletchling looking at you tilting its head as it flew up and landed on lucarios head
