All of them had gone home for a few days after their loss in the Nationals.

Ramiro, and Mia had gone to a hotel. Because they didn't wanna go to Mercedes' house. Obviously.

And now they are back at school.

Mia's POV

We lost Nationals! To Gaspar! My best friend! my brother!!! Who was Singing OUR song! I'm still so mad at him! I will never talk to him. Not after how he betrayed Zoëy and I.

"Hello?" Someone flapped their arms in my face

"Huh?!" I said looking up to see the one and only LUPE ACHAVAL.

"What's up?" I asked, not wanting to fight.

"I need to talk to you. Please." Lupe said, nicely.

"Okay" I said, confused because she never says please for anything. And she said it nicely.

She took my hand and then started walking to the main office.

Oh yea, Mercedes is on leave today. She is sick. I hope she would feel better.

I know.

"She was horrible to you" and
"she made your life complicated"
but I would never wish her bad health.

We reached Dad's office. It said in bold letters

RAMIRO ACHAVAL

"Hey dad" Lupe said as she entered and hugged Alvaro.

Wait Alvaro! My boyfriend Alvaro.

"Hi dad! Hi Alvaro" I said hugging them both.

"So why did you call us here Lu?" Ramiro asked

"Family meeting" Lupe said and I was shocked. I was invited in a family meeting?? I think everyone else was too.

"Shouldn't Mercedes be here too?" I asked, still shocked but processing.

"It's about her." Lupe said and Alvaro put his hand on her back.

"Dad, there's a reason Alvaro and I love you more than mom. There is a reason I feel safe with you... Loved and cared for." Lupe said

"Yea... And there's a reason we both are upset that you will not be together.... Not because you both will not be together and upset but because... You won't be with us." Alvaro said

I just listened....

"We love mom and we don't doubt she loves us... But she never shows it... All she cares about is the bloody school and Go! And if I am singing and dancing well. If I get chosen and blah blah blah" Lupe complained

"She loves you kids. Why would say that" Ramiro said

"Because she is horrible... She fired Ivana because Lupe didn't sing lead and told Ivana it was because she was disrespecting authority. NAD told Lupe it was the same" I muttered "I heard her talk to Gloria about it"

"She made sure the professors failed Mia" Lupe said

"She suspended Mia from go because she didnt get an A. Instead she got a B. And that was also a wrong judgement because hers was better than anyone's." Alvaro said

"She didn't let Mia perform in the music fest in school because she helped Alvaro and the team" Lupe said

"And she told Ricky to remove me but everyone said they wouldn't do it without me." I said
