The cold wind nipped at her face as she lay on the park bench, she awoke.

The park had changed so dramatically, the jungle Jim was no longer animated with bright colours the roundabout no longer squealed with excitement but screamed with terror. The fall leaves weren’t their beautiful orange’s and full of life they were dead and blank. The sky cried tear drops which hit her face rolling down her cheek. She sat up from the bench she shivered, blood drained from her body it came out as cracked whimper then louder till finally her voice rang out through the park “IAN!” Was it only an hour ago that the park was full of laughter and a sea of happy heads running around one of which was her little brother, who was no longer with her.

The tear droplets were no longer falling from the sky but also from her face. She stood only to stumble back down to the cold, muddy floor. Her sobs became louder and echoed through her mind. The girl finally stood and screamed with panic “IAN! , ARE YOU HERE?”, but the only thing that replied was the wind that howled and once again the girl shivered, something caught her eye it was red, she edged towards it , the object finally registered, she spirited towards it and knelt she trembled.

The bag was red and had spiderman on it,

Haley stood against the cool marble letting the sun warm her; she waited for her little brothers class to finish the bell rang out and a swarm of heads emerged from the old school building. The bright blonde head of Ian ran out, she watched as he looked around for her after her spotted her he hoisted his Spiderman backpack higher onto his back and scurried his way over to her. She opened her arms and lifted him high into the air “Wat’s up kiddo?” she tickled his stomach and he could barely speak through his laughter “Good” he managed to get out, “Does my little tickle monster want to go to the park?” he contemplated the offer before nodding, Haley popped him down and headed towards the park.

She opened the backpack only to have the tears come faster and faster the label in the back read the name Ian Jones. Haley stood and screamed “IAN!” still nothing, the adrenaline kicked in and Haley legged it towards home, the rain pelted her face and she was soaked to the bone, the door opened with a simple click of the key she tripped her way into the room “IAN!” she ran through the house flicking light switches on as she went “IAN!”  She was soaked to the bone but did not care “IAN!”.

NOTHING

The park buzzed with happy children, everything seemed like a cartoon the birds sung happily in the trees the sky was clear and blue and the sun beamed down casting the place a glow. The weather mirrored exactly how she felt. Ian scampered off to play, Ian was such a bright child and so intelligent, she watched as ran, jumped and played with other children. She smiled someone came over to her “You son is beautiful” the lady had to be at least in her thirty’s Haley looked at her in shock “Oh, that’s not my son he’s my little brother” the lady seemed very surprised at the reply, they spoke some more, she eventually called over her kid and said goodbye. Haley sat watching her brother the park started to empty till it was just her and Ian a car pulled up.  A sharp object collided with her head, and a small cry filled the air.
