I didn't know what I was feeling

I didn't know it at the time that what I was going through was not real
I was caught off guard
My feelings were not real
My thoughts were not real
My dreams were not real
My fantasies were not real
You were not real
The moment I saw you I felt alive
You were my light, my hope
I didn't think I would fall so fast
My emotions became a roller coaster ride
I didn't understand at the time
Maybe the lack of love I was feeling turned into my love for you
I clung unto you like you were my lifeline
At the same time I was holding a string by its thread
You were the very thing that made me feel alive yet killed me inside everyday
Isn't it funny
The first thing that ever made me happy was only in my dreams
In my fantasies where I saw, felt, and was in bliss
I'm sorry for blaming and getting mad at you for what you will never know or understand about me
Now I realize that I created you in my head
