Chapter 3

Beginning

The three girls stared dumbfounded at the page. Teto had suddenly forced them into her house and showed them a weird book that had weird writings, so of course they were going to be confused

"Uhmm..." Rin mumbled as she took a closer look at the page "Can you tell us what that means Miss Teto?"

The old lady groaned and shot a glare at three girls, as if they should now what that thing even meant. Teto leaned back on her chair and crossed her legs, giving the girls a dirty look

"I thought I already told you three about it. Are you telling me you forgot?"
The girls shuddered at the venom in her voice

Even with a few words, Teto could easily bring the strongest man in the world to their knees

Miku quickly shook her head
"Of course not, we didn't forget..." She gave an awkward laugh "It's just that we've been SO busy that it might have slipped our minds, right girls?" Miku turned to her friends giving them a look to go along with her lie

(Y/N) laughed and scratched her cheek
"Oh, yes! Totally! I mean, I have been helping Uncle G with his job so I didn't have the time to think about it!"

Teto just sighed at the two girls, who were incapable of lying properly for some reason. She took the book in her hands and turned it towards the girls so they could see what she was talking about

"This yokai..." She said as she pointed to a drawing that looked like a weird, messed up elephant. It's face was like an elephant but it had the body of a tiger. Needless to say, that thing looked horrifying

"It's called a 'Baku' and it eats dreams." Teto directly said making the girls fall quiet

After a second of soundless staring Miku snorted out loud and slapped a hand on her mouth. After hearing her friend laugh (Y/N) also started giggling while Rin stared with utmost attention, listening to every word Teto had to say

The two girls were trying their best not to be disrespectful but after what Teto said they couldn't hold it any longer

"I'm sorry, Miss Teto!" Miku tried to say as she kept laughing but only spit came out of her mouth

Teto looked at the girls with pure anger and slammed her book shut, making the laughing girls shut up in an instant

Teto stood up and towered over the girls with a menacing look
"You think I'm joking, huh?"

The way she spoke could tear the air open... It was as if the room had no oxygen left and they were suffocating in it. The atmosphere in the room was like bricks, if someone were to move they would all collapse together

"Then how do you explaing Genevieve's disappearance, huh?"

With every word she spoke it felt as if time got slower and slower. The two girls held eachothers hands and looked at Teto in fear as the old lady kept staring at them in disappointment. Such disrespectful actions would not go unpunished
