Breakups are never easy, especially when you lose not only the person you were with but your closest friend too. That's what had happened to Sophie Brown.
She had been in a happy relationship, it was almost perfect, never any arguments, nothing. Then all of a sudden her boyfriend, Nathan, left her with nothing but a simple text:
"Sorry Soph, I can't do this anymore. Goodbye."
Following Nathan's lead, Sophie's best friend Amelia was next to go. However, she didn't say anything, she just ignored Sophie's existence and I guess you could say that's what made it worse.
It wasn't too bad though, Sophie began to make new friends; Laura and Olivia being her closest two.
Then there was him.
That tall, cute guy who she had known for years. Luke Smith. They'd only just become really close again but he was her rock through everything. Naturally, she started falling for him, and falling hard.
One night when they had been talking, she found out he liked her too. Great, right? Not really. You see, Luke also said he liked another girl who he liked more.
"What's going on between you two, I'm so confused," Sophie would ask.
"It's complicated." Was his only reply.
Sophie never understood how it could be so complicated. How could he like two people and string the two along just because he wasn't sure of what he wanted? It wasn't fair in Sophie's books, not all all.
But then again, Luke never understood the consequences of his actions.
